What’s the difference between plan-management and self-management NDIS?
When you manage your NDIS funds yourself, you’re in charge of all the paperwork for your NDIS plan. Having this level of control and involvement works well for some people, but others can find it a bit overwhelming.
Plan management means a professional (like Plan Tracker) takes care of your NDIS paperwork for you. We make sure your providers get paid the right amount and on time. We also support you to keep track of how much you’re spending.
With plan management, you can use services from both NDIS-registered and non-registered providers for greater choice. Plus, we make sure your providers are not overcharging you.
Does the NDIS pay for a plan manager in QLD?
The short answer is – yes! The NDIS covers a setup fee of $232 for participants in metropolitan areas in Queensland for their first plan (which is paid separately to other plan budgets). They also pay the monthly fee of $104.45 for the length of your plan. These fees may be slightly higher if you live in a remote area.
There is zero cost to you as a NDIS participant. This monthly fee covers all costs associated with assisting and supporting you to manage your NDIS plan.

There are many types of Plan Managers, from small operators to large organisations and providers who sit somewhere in the middle, like Plan Tracker. The depth of skills and knowledge offered by each option varies considerably.
