1 Core – This budget is the most flexible, and in most cases (not all), you can use your funding across any of the following four support categories – transport, consumables, assistance with daily life (daily activities), and assistance with social/community/civic participation.
2 Capital – this pays for things like assistive technology, home and vehicle modifications and specialised disability accommodation (SDA) It is important to remember that funds within the Capital Supports budget can only be used for their specific purpose and cannot be used to pay for anything else. Generally these items cost more than $1500 and you will need a quote approved by the NDIA to fund them from your plan.
3 Capacity Building – This budget is for things like Support Coordination, Improved Living Arrangements, Increased social/community/civic participation, Employment – Finding and Keeping a Job, Improved Relationships, Health and Wellbeing, Learning, Life Choices (choice & control) and Improved Daily Living Skills. Unlike your Core Supports budget, your Capacity Building Supports budget cannot be moved from one support category to another.
