This year’s theme for World Down Syndrome Day is ‘Improve Our Support Systems’
To celebrate and acknowledge WDSD, we spoke with Jack, from Adelaide, and his Mum Miriam, to see what they’ve been up to since we caught up last year.
Sounds like you’ve been busy since we last caught up with you Jack. Can you tell us what you’ve been doing?
Jack continues to work at Tutti About – Tutti Arts which is a multi-arts organisation where learning disabled and neurodivergent artists create visual art, theatre, music, screen, and dance, and experiment with art and technology.
Jack worked with recording artist (and tutor from Tutti) Georgia Oatley, to create her latest album cover. The album ‘Pastoral’ was launched in February.
Jack: “I created my art piece called “Pink a nightmoon a light” at Tutti on canvas, for recording artist Georgia Oatley who I work with at Tutti.
Georgia:
I have the pleasure of working alongside Jacko through my work at @tuttiarts – I work with him producing Hip Hop but he’s also a prolific visual artist, and an award-winning dancer. Jack is also just one of the sweetest and most genuine people I’ve met in this life. Truly a gem.
The piece is titled “Pink a nightmoon a light”. Thank you to Jacko for creating this incredible artwork that completely captured me upon first viewing it at an exhibition at Tutti. The artwork was purchased before I could get my mits on it, but luckily Tom Squires took a photo of the work prior to its completion. This image of the work, unfinished mind you, landed in front of me as the perfect image to encapsulate the dense visual world this album is born from. Georgia:

Record cover: My artwork was chosen as an album cover for Georgia Oatley’s Record titled “A Pastoral” . This also inspired a stained glass version by “Glass Rhythm” Album launch.
